Could 的用处:
1. Who is at the door?
It could be Michael !
以上的 could, 是‘有可能’ 的意思。
直译: 是谁在门外呀?
有可能是麦克!
2. Could you please tell me how to get to the airport?
以上的 could, 是‘有礼貌’ 的提出要求。
注: Could you please.. 比 Can you please.. 更有礼貌!
3. If you can’t reach his handphone, you could call this number.
以上的 could, 是 ‘给建议’ 用的!
直译: 如果你打他手机联络不到他,我建议你播这号码。
4. could 是 can 的过去词。
When I was five years old, I could finish a bottle of yogurt drink in 2 minutes.
以上的 could, 是‘可以’ 的意思。它跟 can 是一样的,只不过由于我们想要说的
是五岁时的事情,所以要用 ‘could’.
May 的用处:
1. Who is at the door?

以上的 may, 是‘有可能’ 的意思。注: may 与 could 比起来,may 的可能性较高
直译: 是谁在门外呀?
有可能是麦克!
2. May I use your phone?
以上的 may, 是‘问对方的许可’ 。
直译: 你允许我用你的电话吗?
3. May you be happy forever!
May you have a great Christmas!
以上的 may, 是‘祝福’ 的意思。所以当我们要祝福别人时,我们可以用 may 开始!
Would 的用处:
1. would 是 mind (介意) 的好搭档!
例: Would you mind telling me the truth?
Would you mind paying in cash?
直译: 你介意告诉我真相吗?
你介意付现金吗?
注: would you mind…比 do you mind…更有礼貌。
2. would + you like 一起用
当我们想礼貌的问对方 ‘要不要。。。’
例: Would you like a drink?
Would you like a sandwich?
直译: 你要不要饮料? (礼貌的)
你要不要三文治? (礼貌的)
注: would you like a drink? 比 do you want a drink? 更有礼貌。
Will 也可用来提出要求,或问对方愿不愿意。
例: Will you marry me?
Will you make dinner tonight?
